  • Does Pregnancy require special Preparation?

    Pre-conception checkup is important when planning to get pregnant, to ensures that the land is ready for the seed, so you reap the optimum harvest. It's a good opportunity to identify certain conditions that may affect you or your baby, maximize body function if you have any ailment, and provide advice regarding diet, exercise, vitamin supplementation, body weight, stress, smoking, alcohol, or recreational drugs.
  • What causes Miscarriage?

    About 10% of pregnancies ends in Miscarriage. Early miscarriage may be caused by genetic (chromosomal) abnormalities, infections diseases, or problems in the mother's immune system. Late miscarriage, on the other hand, is often caused by structural defects in the woman's uterus e.g. incompetent cervix.
  • What is Pre-term Labour (PTL)?

    PTL is labour that starts before the 37 weeks pregnancy, and Pre-mature baby weight below 2500 gm. The reason behind PTL is unclear, yet it happens in about 10% of women, and brings along many potential complications to both the mother and the baby. Accordingly Obstetricians always puts in a fight to delay an impending PTL. Join us to learn more.
  • What is Post-Partum Depression ?

    Most (85%) new moms experience postpartum mood swings "baby blues" within 2-3 days after childbirth, resulting in anxiety, crying spells, and poor sleep; yet resolves spontaneously within few days. About 15% of women develops a significant mood decline "Postpartum Depression"; and few women get a more severe, but short-lasting (treatable), mental disorder "Postpartum Psychosis".
